This valve utilizes a non-flow pilot construction.
The pilot eliminates seat leakage, enabling economizers to run at elevated pressures and maximize flow capacity. Consistent, repeatable tight shut-off of the valve seat further boosts overall operational efficiency.
This unit delivers overpressure safeguarding for economizers in steam discharge applications where liquid-qualified safety relief valves or conventional pilot-operated safety relief valves are not viable. It holds ASME Section I certification for steam and water service in compliance with ASME Code Case 2446.
A pressure snubber is integrated within the pilot piping, which suppresses valve chatter triggered by abrupt pressure fluctuations and water hammer shockwaves.
